The reason I love these bags is they have so much room AND fold down flat.  This bag was actually returned to the store because the person mistakingly thought it was broken - its NOT. If you look at the photo of the back of the bag you'll see 2 silver balls at the bottom of the bars that push in to connect/disconnect from the base that make the flat-folding possible.   
 
Not only is this a great bag for your sewing machines but its also the perfect cruise roll-on bag when travelling from local ports. I love that I can top-load everything,  use the pockets for travel docs, passports, cell phones, then fold it down flat to fit in the tiny closets. Easy access and easy to carry.
